2019 Goals

2018 was a pretty great year for me. When I look back on my 2018 goals, I am proud of how many things I have managed to accomplish or at least improve on. As I’ve said before, I don’t like to set resolutions as such, as I don’t believe they are that productive, so I prefer to set goals and targets for personal and professional growth.

The Hormone Diaries Part One: Periods

I am starting this series is to try and normalise discussions amongst women and break the taboo. We’re going to talk about everything from periods to contraceptives, from sexuality to masturbation. I think it’s really important that young girls are not just biologically educated, but have a bit of life experience to refer to. It can be really lonely when you are younger if you are not experiencing what is considered to be normal. So here I am, probably being a bit TMI, in the hope that someone out there will read this and know that they are not alone.

My Thoughts On Diet Culture

Nobody should be made to feel like their weight or their size is more important than their health and happiness. Our generation in particular has become obsessed with our bodies and how we look, especially in comparison to others. Of course, social media plays a huge part in this. We are driven by the likes, shares and follows on social media, and subconsciously use this as a measure of worthiness. Everywhere we go and every type of media we consume is pushing an “ideal” that is largely un-achievable or unhealthy for the majority of the population.
