I recently made the choice to cancel my Birchbox subscription after around 2 years of being a member. I chose to switch to Glossybox, arguably their biggest competitor, having seen lots of positive reviews and doing some of my own research. I see a lot of people, bloggers especially, writing about both of these subscription boxes, so I thought it might be useful if I weighed up the pros and cons and wrote honestly about what I think of both brands.

It’s that time of the month again where I share with you the contents of my Birchbox. For those who aren’t aware, Birchbox is a beauty subscription service that sends you a personalised box per month for just £10 and often features popular and high-end brands. This month’s theme was Mindfulness and the design on the box fits that perfectly. I love the styling and the colours and will definitely be using this for storage in the future! The products I received are also pretty spot on for what I would describe as self-care; there’s a good mix of skin-care, make-up and hair products for a full pamper evening!

When I was approached by Fair Squared regarding a review of their products, I was intrigued. I’m always looking for new skincare products to try, so I jumped at the chance to do a bit of a different review today. Fair Squared create a wide range of ethical skincare and beauty products, including body lotions, shower gels, shaving essentials, hair care and even condoms. To add to this list, they carry many certifications. They’re fair trade, vegan, all natural and even halal. They are also cruelty-free and promote the use of natural and organic products in their cosmetics.
