Can anyone honestly remember the last time they got dressed up? It feels like a lifetime ago since I last went out for anything other than a Tesco shop, and I didn’t realise how much I would miss making that effort to do my hair and makeup, and put on a nice playsuit or jumpsuit every now and again. And it’s been even longer since I wrote anything about fashion or style on the blog!

AD: Going Out Out With Femme Luxe

Thanks to the lovely people at Femme Luxe, I’ve spent the last few days really taking the time to enjoy dressing up and making an effort. It’s almost become a form of self care in a way! Who would have thought putting on a nice mesh jumpsuit or black playsuit would make such a difference to your mood!

Black Frill Sleeve Open Back Skort Playsuit

I bloody love a playsuit. Even better if it’s black. So of course, this frilly sleeved number* caught my attention right away. I love that it’s quite a simple design, but has an open back for a bit of added sexiness and drama, and a frill sleeve to make it a bit more exciting than a plain black jumpsuit.

As I’m quite petite, I seem to find playsuits a much better style on me than jumpsuits, where length can be more of a concern. This playsuit fits so well, with an elasticated waist to add a bit of shape to my frame, and honestly I cannot wait until I can take this to the dancefloor!

Ribbed Scoop Neck Jumpsuit

Now I’ll be honest, I wasn’t too sure of this ribbed jumpsuit when I first put it on. In fact, I described it to my boyfriend as feeling like some sort of budget catwoman!

I really love the style and design, I love the ribbed effect and it’s actually very comfortable to wear, but I think for me the fit is just a little bit off. It’s not too tight, but it’s not baggy either so it feels a bit… Not quite right on me. But rest assured this will go to a loving home with a friend of mine who this would be perfect for. As this didn’t fit me very well, I’ve used an image from their website to show you how it should look!

Black Mesh Polka Dot High Neck Jumpsuit

I’ve been looking for an outfit with this polka dot mesh for a while, but have never found something quite right until I saw this jumpsuit. The combination of the mesh with the skinny or straight leg fit feels more sophisticated to me, perfect for a classy cocktail evening with the girls.

I love that even though I’m only 5″1, this jumpsuit is the perfect length when teamed with my go-to black heels! It’s again, really comfortable to wear and the material feels light and quite breathable. I do already own a couple of black jumpsuits, but none with the added detail that the mesh and the polka dots bring to this. I have added a belt to this just to pull in my waist slightly, but I love it!
