AD A Unique Celebration With bakerdays

When bakerdays offered me the opportunity to review one of their personalised letterbox cakes, I jumped at the chance! I mean, who doesn’t love cake, right? There’s also a nice little discount code at the end of the post too!

bakerdays are an online bakery that specialises in personalised and uniquely designed cakes that can be posted directly to your door. They offer a wide range of flavours and designs for all occasions, so there’s no excuse not to have a little browse of their selection.

Personally, I was a little sceptical at the idea of a letterbox cake. I imagined it coming a little bashed, probably without much of a wow factor. I was pleasantly surprised when I realised it wasn’t actually just delivered in a cardboard box (thankfully!) but in fact was in quite a sweet little tin with no imperfections to be seen. I also really loved the little card that was included as this added a more personable touch. One thing that did catch my eye that I thought was really handy was the ingredient list that is provided. I know this is standard on shop bought cakes, but I hadn’t even thought that something like this would be included in a posted cake, so this was a nice addition and great if you have friends or family with specific dietary requirements.

Now, onto the important bit, the taste. I chose a chocolate cake as this was a gift for my boyfriend’s birthday and he had hinted at wanting a chocolate cake this year. There was a lot more icing than I was expecting, so it’s definitely a very naughty sweet treat, but you could still taste the chocolate. The cake was surprisingly moist, as I had imagined it would have dried out a bit during its travels. Overall, it was really tasty and definitely on par with shop bought birthday cakes.

Prices for these letterboxes cakes start at £14.99, which I will admit I think it is a little much considering the cake is relatively small and quite thin. That being said, you are paying more for the experience than the cake itself. The personalisation is a huge selling point, as well as the novelty of being able to surprise family members or friends with food in the post! The cake itself is also pretty good quality, tastes great and has quite a long shelf life.

Overall, both myself and my boyfriend were really pleased with the letterbox cake. It’s such a fun idea and is an exciting gift to give someone – whether it’s a birthday, Father’s Day or a good luck gift. I love this idea! I think the price is justified as if I was ordering this I would probably be sending it straight to the person. It’s a lovely personalised gift. Great post!

I love the whole concept of this but when I worked with them previously and ran a giveaway there were admin issues which is such a shame. May have to try them again though as I think it was just a one off genuine mistake –

I’ve seen so many bloggers write about Bakerdays and I’m still not over the fact that a cake can come to your door, intact, having come through the post – just doesn’t seem plausible?! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ They look as though they taste incredible though, and definitely not as dry as I would expect a posted cake to taste, like you!

I love the idea of this and I agree, I thought it would have gotten damaged, but the fact they provide a tin to keep it safe on its travels is great!
I won’t lie, I’m not a massive fan of icing so it probably wouldn’t be one for me, but it would make a great birthday cake present for others!

I love bakerdays! Letterbox cakes are such a great idea, especially for those who aren’t always at home to collect deliveries. I bought my sister one for her 24th birthday and she loved it! The tin is a bonus, my sister now uses it as a sewing tin
