When I was approached by Fair Squared regarding a review of their products, I was intrigued. I’m always looking for new skincare products to try, so I jumped at the chance to do a bit of a different review today.
Fair Squared create a wide range of ethical skincare and beauty products, including body lotions, shower gels, shaving essentials, hair care and even condoms. To add to this list, they carry many certifications. They’re fair trade, vegan, all natural and even halal. They are also cruelty-free and promote the use of natural and organic products in their cosmetics. They are one of the first cosmetics companies to be able to label their products with the famous Fairtrade stamp. Pretty impressive, right?
I was allowed to choose a couple of products from the Fair Squared range to review, so I went with a bit of an intimate care theme, because let’s be honest, it can be a nightmare keeping everything under control ‘down there’.
Green Tea Intimate Washing Lotion
Us girls are always told about using too many harsh products on our sensitive areas, and this is where this washing lotion can really come in handy! With mild and natural ingredients, this lotion is suitable for daily use and is great for sensitive skin and those with skin allergies. The green tea extract has a subtle scent, and is a nice change from fruitier shower gels and lotions. The lotion itself can be used sparingly; a little really goes a long way! This lotion was great at leaving my skin feeling both nourished and silky smooth.
Shea Body Butter
A more familiar product and a staple of any woman’s beauty routine. I swear by body butter and use it religiously, especially on my legs as they can get quite dry skin in the winter. I was curious to see if this body butter would be any different to other brands I had tried. And whilst the difference isn’t massively overwhelming, I would reach for this product again. It smells gorgeous (obviously) and despite being the same thickness as most other body butters, it didn’t leave my skin feeling as greasy as some other brands I have tried. This product soaks into the skin really nicely and left my skin feeling hydrated and well looked after for many hours.
Apricot Intimate Shaving Oil
Now for the slightly less familiar products. I’ve never used any sort of shaving oil before, and tend to stick to what I know when it comes to look after things ‘down there’, so I was super curious to try this oil. According to Fair Squared, this oil is intended for preparing your downstairs area for shaving, with the aim of reducing those pesky razor bumps and leaving everything super fresh and clean. Now you’re going to have to trust me on this one, this stuff is great! Simply apply a few drops of the oil to whatever area you want to tame and then shave to your hearts content. I tried this out over a few weeks, and there’s not a red bump in sight! It’s also a bonus that this smells like you’re in the middle of a tropical rainforest…
Apricot Intimate After Shave Balm
Another first for me was this after shave balm, that claims to soothe and calm recently shaved skin. This product is developed especially for treating those intimate areas, but can be used elsewhere too if you want to really pamper yourself. This balm is more of a thin, oily consistency that I was expecting, but it soaks into the skin and doesn’t feel greasy at all. Made from natural oils, it leaves skin feeling moisturised and protected from irritations. It’s scented the same as the shaving oil too, so you really feel like you’ve got your life together when you team this pair up! I don’t know if I would use this product all the time, but it’s a nice extra step if you want to treat yourself to an extra bit of self-love.
I hope this review encourages you to try out Fair Squared’s products, they really do have something for everyone and you can feel good about supporting an ethical company at the same time! It’s a win-win.
